We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Service Co-ordinator – Cold Flow to join the Fuels Specialties Customer Technical Services (FS-CTS) team, reporting to the Director of Cold Flow Improvers EMEA. The FS-CTS team, based in Ellesmere Port, is responsible for supporting ongoing sales of FS products to the EMEA region. The purpose of the team is to answer customer technical queries; perform laboratory studies to support the ongoing use of products; develop new product formulations/applications; provide field support; support field trials and troubleshoot/solve field problems. As such, good chemistry knowledge is essential, combined with the ability to be flexible and solve problems.
Role Responsibilities
- Provide technical field expertise on the application of cold flow improver additives with major focus on UK refinery accounts.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for Innospec UK customers, visiting customer sites as required.
- Troubleshoot additive use and support customers in achieving fuel specifications and optimal blending.
- Develop and implement CFI blend model and additive response capabilities.
- Liaise with Innospec’s technical team on laboratory studies and provide input to R&D programmes based on field experience.
- Provide technical guidance and support for additive solutions, including laboratory work at the Innospec Fuel Technology Centre or at customer sites.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and modelling outputs for internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate and report technical information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Assist with the training of staff and customers in test techniques and additive applications.
- Maintain laboratory areas in a safe and tidy condition according to local standards and carry out risk assessments as appropriate.
Requirements
- Degree in chemistry or another relevant scientific discipline.
- Extensive oil refinery experience, especially fuel blending and meeting fuel specifications.
- Strong Excel and modelling techniques (essential).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships with customers and internal teams.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of customer needs.
- Flexibility to travel to customer sites and work flexibly across both field and laboratory environments.
