The Global Product Manager will be responsible for leading the strategic direction, commercialisation, and lifecycle management of specialty chemical products across international markets. This role requires a strong background in the chemical industry, proven leadership in matrixed organizations and the ability to establish global product management standards and best practices. The successful candidate will build and lead a coordinated global team, drive innovation, and support sales growth through effective product strategies.
Please note this position can be located in Ellesmere Port (UK), Castiglione (Italy), or Barcelona (Spain).
Role Responsibilities- Establish and maintain global benchmarks for product lifecycle management, commercialization, and portfolio optimization.
- Develop and implement standardized processes for product development, launch, and performance monitoring across all markets.
- Conduct market assessments including customer needs analysis, competitive landscape evaluation, regulatory considerations, and future market direction to guide innovation and multi-application product development.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders including R&D, supply chain, marketing, operations, regulatory affairs, and regional sales teams to ensure aligned execution.
- Lead global product launch initiatives, managing cross-functional launch teams and ensuring alignment with market needs and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with sales teams to provide product expertise, develop go-to-market strategies, train on technical product benefits, and support customer success.
- Work with operations to scale up production while maintaining quality, cost targets, and supply reliability.
- Recruit, develop, and align talent across regions to ensure consistent execution of product strategies. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Extensive experience in the chemical industry, including at least four years in product management.
- Proven success leading global teams and operating within matrixed organizations.
- Strong understanding of commercialization processes, market dynamics, and regulatory environments (e.g., REACH, TSCA).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
