We're looking for an Analytical Chemist to join our Research & Development team at our Ellesmere Port site on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You'll play a key role in supporting innovative R&D projects, using advanced analytical techniques to solve complex technical challenges and support product development.

What you'll be doing:

  • Developing analytical solutions to support research and development projects
  • Using a range of analytical techniques, including GC-MS, LC-MS, GPC, NMR, ICP-MS, thermal analysis and microscopy
  • Developing and validating analytical methods for new applications and products
  • Interpreting, analysing and presenting results to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Maintaining, troubleshooting and optimising analytical instrumentation
  • Supporting investigations involving complex chemical mixtures and unknown materials
  • Providing technical support to colleagues, including apprentice laboratory technicians and global laboratory teams
  • Working collaboratively with teams across R&D, Product Management, Technical Services and Process Development

What we're looking for:

  • Degree qualified in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or a related discipline
  • Experience in a developmental analytical role with investigatory responsibilities
  • Practical experience of analytical techniques such as GC-MS, LC-MS, GPC, NMR and related instrumentation
  • Experience of analytical method development and validation
  • Ability to work with complex chemical mixtures and solve challenging analytical problems
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with strong attention to detail
  • An ethical and committed approach to delivering accurate analytical results
