InnoForge is supporting an ambitious space technology company as they expand their engineering capability following a period of significant growth. We are seeking an experienced Spacecraft Design Engineer to support the development of next-generation spacecraft platforms and mission systems. This opportunity will suit an engineer who enjoys operating across the full spacecraft lifecycle, from early concept development and architecture through to subsystem definition, integration planning and vehicle-level design.

Working within a highly technical environment, you will collaborate closely with systems, software and mission engineering teams to help define scalable spacecraft solutions for future missions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop spacecraft concepts and vehicle architectures from mission requirements
  • Perform system-level trade studies across spacecraft subsystems
  • Define interfaces between structures, power, thermal, communications, avionics and payload systems
  • Support vehicle configuration, sizing and performance analysis
  • Contribute to system modelling, design optimisation and engineering decision-making
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure integrated spacecraft solutions
  • Support technical reviews and design maturity activities
Requirements
  • Experience designing spacecraft, satellites or complex aerospace systems
  • Strong understanding of spacecraft subsystems and vehicle-level integration
  • Experience performing engineering trade studies and requirements analysis
  • Familiarity with systems engineering methodologies
Desirable Experience
  • Small satellite or spacecraft development programmes
  • Mission analysis or flight systems exposure
  • MBSE or digital engineering approaches
  • On-orbit operations, servicing or proximity operations
  • Experience within both startup and established aerospace environments
