Here at innocent, we're on a mission to make it easier for everyone to get more fruit and veg into their bodies. We started back in 1999 and since then we've gone from selling a few smoothies at a music festival to becoming one of Europe's biggest drinks companies with around 1,000 people (and the B Corp seal of approval). It's nice to be able to say things like that but we're not patting ourselves on the back just yet. We want to show everyone that it's possible to be a successful business while looking after people and the planet too, so we're trying to get better in pretty much every way. And that's where this job comes in.
At innocent, our purpose is to help people live well through the delicious goodness of fruit and veg. Making drinks that taste good is only part of the job. Making sure they are genuinely good for people is every bit as important. That is where this role comes in. As our Company Nutritionist, you will sit in the Healthy and Sustainable Diets team and work across the whole business to make sure the choices we make stay true to what we stand for. From new recipes to big innovation ideas, you will help keep fruit and veg at the heart of everything we do. As we grow across Europe, this role is key to making sure our drinks stay credible, science led and true to our purpose.
You'll be the go-to nutrition expert for the business, helping teams make decisions that are both tasty and genuinely good for people:
- Guiding product, brand and innovation teams on nutrition, ingredients, labelling and health claims
- Keeping us up to date on the latest thinking in nutrition, public health and food systems
- Turning complex science into simple, useful advice that anyone in the business can understand
- Helping deliver our healthy and sustainable diets strategy and how fruit and veg show up in our future plans
- Working with research partners, universities and external experts to keep our thinking sharp
- Representing innocent in conversations with policymakers, academics, charities and industry groups
- Spotting new trends in health and nutrition and helping us stay one step ahead
You'll have:
- A strong grounding in nutrition science, with a degree in nutrition, dietetics or nutritional sciences (and RNutr or ANutr registered).
- Experience working in FMCG, food & beverage, health policy, nutrition research or other public-health-focused environments.
- The confidence to give clear advice and stand by it, even when the answer is not the easiest one.
- Experience working across teams and influencing decisions without needing to shout the loudest.
- A good grasp of nutrition & health claims and labelling rules, and how they affect what we can make and say.
- The ability to explain complicated ideas in a way that feels simple, human and useful.
- Curiosity about the bigger picture, including sustainability, farming, public health and how people actually eat.
You'll get the chance to shape what healthy means for a brand built on fruit and veg:
- To work with teams across innovation, sustainability, brand, research and public affairs.
- To be part of early stage thinking on new drinks and new ideas before they exist in the real world.
- To build relationships with experts, academics and organisations who are shaping the future of food & drink.
- To help guide big decisions about what we make, how we talk about it and why it matters.
- To play a real part in helping more people get more fruit and veg into their everyday lives.
We want innocent to be a great place to work, so we do lots of stuff to make people feel at home and try to make sure everyone's career is shaping up the way they want it to. There are plenty of opportunities to have a go at something new or take things further.
In exchange for helping us do business in the right way, you'll get a solid rewards package that includes a salary, private healthcare, a target-based bonus, and a bunch of other nice things like a day off on your birthday. And yes, you get free smoothies.
We also know that not all our drinkers come from the same background, or think the same – so why should we? At innocent, we want to be a great place to work where a diverse bunch of people from all backgrounds can turn up and thrive. When we hire, we want all the juice, bits, and pulp that make you who you are.
Even if you don't think you can tick all the boxes, if the job sounds right for you, come and throw your hat in the ring. Probably best to get your skates on though, as we might close this early if we get loads of applications.
