Here at innocent, we’re on a mission to make it easier for everyone to get more fruit and veg into their bodies. We started back in 1999 and since then we’ve gone from selling a few smoothies at a music festival to becoming one of Europe’s biggest drinks companies with around 1,000 people (and the B Corp seal of approval). It’s nice to be able to say things like that but we’re not patting ourselves on the back just yet. We want to show everyone that it’s possible to be a successful business while looking after people and the planet too, so we’re trying to get better in pretty much every way. And that’s where this job comes in.
The world of Commercial is complex and diverse with customers ranging from large retailers to global coffee chains to well-known High Street brands to your local independent deli. We’re looking for a top-notch National Account Executive (or Commercial Executive as we say at innocent) to come and join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the development of one of our key accounts here at innocent. This is a fast-paced and varied role, so if you like being in the thick of it this role is perfectly suited for you, especially if you want to progress in the world of commercial.
You will have direct customer exposure and the responsibility of your own relationships. Being a resilient self-starter, strong sales skills and understanding how to influence effectively are all important parts of the role. As with all commercial roles, you’ll also need to have strong attention to detail as getting the fundamentals of the customer ticking over are crucial – lots of numbers stuff like working with P&Ls, promotional planning, ownership of the forecasting process and account reviews.
You’ll have the ability to demonstrate key commercial attributes; the nitty gritty bits are below:
- Be comfortable working with numbers and have hawk-like attention to detail in your day-to-day
- Excellent communication skills - you’ll be an active listener with the ability to build trust and credibility both externally and internally
- Have the ability to juggle multiple priorities, responsibilities, and stakeholders, with a track record of managing priorities effectively
- You’re personable and engaging with a proven record of building strong relationships
- Can work through tricky situations - you’ll need to be adaptable, resilient, and a quick learner
- Previous account management experience is a bonus
You’ll get an exciting opportunity to learn all about the world of commercial and how we work with our customers. You’ll learn how to manage many different stakeholders and become a first-class communicator and negotiator. The opportunity to learn the art of selling, negotiation, and all the fundamentals to progress within commercial. The chance to develop your analytical & planning skills, owning and inputting into the business cycles. The opportunity to be part of a high-functioning team with a track record of delivering strong results.
We want innocent to be a great place to work, so we do lots of stuff to make people feel at home and try to make sure everyone’s career is shaping up the way they want it to. There are plenty of opportunities to try something new or take things further. In exchange for helping us do business in the right way, you’ll get a solid rewards package that includes a salary, private healthcare, a target-based bonus, and a bunch of other nice things like a day off on your birthday. And yes, you get free smoothies.
We also know that not all our drinkers come from the same background, or think the same – so why should we? At innocent, we want to be a great place to work where a diverse bunch of people from all backgrounds can turn up and thrive. When we hire, we want all the juice, bits, and pulp that make you who you are. Even if you don’t think you can tick all the boxes, if the job sounds right for you, come and throw your hat in the ring. Probably best to get your skates on though, as we might close this early if we get loads of applications.
