HG Recruitment Solutions are seeking HGV Class 1 drivers to work with our client partner Asda in a permanent role. Various shifts and start times available, offering full time weekly work and/or ad‑hoc cover over 7 days a week. We are looking for reliable, professional Class 1 HGV Drivers to join the team at our client ASDA, one of the UK’s leading supermarket brands. You’ll play a vital role in keeping the shelves stocked and the customers happy ensuring goods are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time. You’ll be joining a friendly and supportive transport team where safety, respect, and teamwork come first.
Responsibilities
- Operate articulated HGVs (>3.5 tonnes) for local and national store deliveries, including single and double‑deck trailers and cage work.
- Ensure all loads are properly secured to prevent damage during transit.
- Plan routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries, adapting to traffic and weather conditions.
- Communicate effectively with site personnel and provide excellent customer service.
- Follow all road safety regulations and company procedures, including vehicle checks and reporting defects.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- No more than 6 penalty points on the licence.
- Good understanding of driver hours and working time regulations.
- Positive attitude and commitment to safe, efficient driving.

- Days – £15.30 (up to 12 weeks £16.30, up to 27 weeks £17.30).
- Overtime – £22.00 (up to 12 weeks £23.00, up to 27 weeks £24.00).
- Nights – £17.99 (up to 12 weeks £19.75, up to 27 weeks £20.75).
- Bank holiday days – £30.60 (overtime £37.30).
- Bank holiday backs – £34.58 (overtime £41.28).
- Bank holiday nights – £35.98 (overtime £42.68).
