This is a part-time, remote role for a Freelance Sound Engineer supporting our onsite Events on the UK Tour. The key responsibilities include:
- Setting up, operating, and dismantling audio equipment.
- Managing microphones and maintaining audio quality.
- Ensuring immersive sound design for the events.
- Collaborating with the team to provide a seamless and transformative audio experience for attendees.
- Troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues that arise during the events.
Tasks include:
- Set up and test all audio equipment, specifically for a silent disco format.
- Integrate and manage the presenter’s provided mixer.
- Ensure the seamless operation and proper gain staging of the lead presenter’s wireless microphone set.
- Operate a custom Ableton Live session provided for the backing tracks.
- Diligently follow a show running script to make accurate and timely changes to the backing tracks.
- Maintain flexibility and attention to detail, taking live cues from the presenter for any slight, unscripted track changes or transitions during the show.
- Assist with the setup and teardown of the presenter’s equipment (e.g., mixer, laptop, etc.) before and after each show.
- Manage the distribution, collection, and basic cleaning/care of all wireless headphones used by event participants.
The event combines focused meditation/breathwork with backing tracks to create an immersive experience.
