Description
We are seeking a software Product Owner to join our team working on music production software and hardware products, including the Akai MPC series, Alesis Strata drum products, and software synthesiser and audio effect plugins.
The Product Owner role facilitates collaboration and development in our software teams, ensuring specifications are clear and timely, the development team focus on the right tasks, and that product development meets business objectives. As a liaison between the product and development teams, they help to define and to plan development work, and approve that feature implementation is acceptable and meets product requirements.
You will be working with our worldwide team of hardware and software developers, testers, product managers.
This role is based in our Cambridge, UK development office.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather requirements/features, understanding the market and our customers\’ needs
- Prioritise feature specifications (as epics, stories, themes) to ensure work aligns with product strategy
- Refine features into workable stories in well organised backlogs
- Support the development squads in development the features, ensuring they fully understand the requirements
- Maintain the features after release
- Coordinate between teams/stakeholders
- Identify and mitigate roadblocks to achieving sprint/release goals
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Minimum 1+ year experience as a software Product Owner, or in comparable product development position
- Scrum, Kanban, and/or XP methodology experience
- Full lifecycle experience of product development, seeing products from conception through development, delivery, and refinement in the field
- Ability to understand entire complex musical products, and focus down to specific workflows within them
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, and balance competing requirements
- Keep up to date on best practices for agile project management
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- 3+ years experience as a software Product Owner
- Experience in audio industry
- Background in music, with live, Studio, or DJ experience
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence
- Mastery of UX; ability to balance UX requirements with technical implementation and business requirements.
- Experience working in multi-site and multi-country project
- Availability to travel internationally
