About Inlights

You’ve seen email personalisation. You’ve never seen it used like this. At Inlights, we turn names, products, data and moments into high-impact personalised images and animations, purpose-built for email and CRM. Our work appears in inboxes for brands including Dr. Martens, Dunelm, Hotel Chocolat, Manchester United, Omaze, Halfords, Boden and more - reaching millions of customers globally. We’re growing fast, and we’re looking for an Email Designer who wants to specialise in beautiful, emotionally-led email creative - not generic templates.

The Role

As our Email Designer, you’ll design and build email-first visuals and animations that stop the scroll and make inboxes feel cinematic. This role is all about email as a creative canvas:

  • Personalised hero imagery
  • Animated GIFs built for inbox constraints
  • Visual storytelling within real CRM and ESP environments

You’ll work closely with our Creative Director and Design Team, helping turn ideas into polished, production-ready email assets that perform at scale. You won’t just ‘make things look nice’. You’ll help shape how brands emotionally connect with customers through email.

Who You Are

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Cares deeply about craft, detail and storytelling.
  • Wants their work seen by millions, not buried in folders.
  • Enjoys fast iteration and creative problem-solving.
  • Is excited by personalisation and data-driven creativity.

What You’ll Create

You’ll design and produce:

  • Personalised email hero images.
  • Animated GIFs optimised for email clients.
  • ‘Name-in-scene’ visuals for major CRM campaigns.
  • Email-first layouts and creative systems.
  • Visual mock-ups and storyboards for pitches and concepts.
  • On-brand creative adapted across CRM journeys.

Every asset you create will be built for real inboxes, real customers, and real impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design personalised email visuals from concept to final delivery.
  • Create high-quality animated GIFs and simple motion loops for email.
  • Ensure creative works within email constraints (file size, formats, clarity).
  • Adapt designs to different brands, guidelines and CRM use cases.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, creative leadership and production teams.
  • Take briefs and help translate ideas into strong visual executions.
  • Iterate quickly based on feedback while maintaining quality.
  • Help raise the creative bar for what email can look and feel like.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong Photoshop and Figma skills.
  • Understanding of email constraints (size, legibility, animation limits).
  • A solid portfolio showing polished, production-ready work.
  • Great attention to detail - visual, typographic and brand-led.

Experience Level

Minimum 2 years in an email, CRM or creative role. Agency or in-house experience welcome. We care more about quality and mindset than titles.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Creating animated GIFs (After Effects, Photoshop or similar).
  • Curiosity around personalisation, automation or AI-assisted workflows.
  • Illustration, light motion, or image-generation experience.

Who You Are

You care about emotion as much as execution. You take pride in creating beautiful, considered work. You’re comfortable iterating fast without losing quality. You’re collaborative, curious and open to feedback. You want to specialise and be great at email design. You enjoy seeing your work live, used and performing.

Working at Inlights

  • Hybrid role - work from home and/or our Manchester studio.
  • A genuine chance to specialise and grow in email-first creativity.
  • Small, ambitious, high-impact creative team.
  • Work seen by millions of customers worldwide.
  • Freedom to experiment, learn and push what email can be.
