About Us

easyJet Traveller is the monthly travel magazine found on every seat aboard easyJet flights, connecting with millions of passengers across Europe every month. More than just an inflight read, it's a trusted travel companion, delivering inspiring destination features, practical travel advice and engaging content that informs and excites readers before, during and after their journey. As the magazine continues to evolve, we're looking for an ambitious, highly organised and ideas-driven Deputy Editor to help shape its editorial direction and deliver exceptional travel content month after month.

The Role

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role for someone who thrives on deadlines, loves storytelling and isn't afraid to pitch fun and creative ideas that showcase Europe’s best destinations. The Deputy Editor will work closely with the Editor and Art Director to create engaging features, secure interviews, commission outstanding travel writers and ensure every issue is delivered to the highest editorial standards. Experience in autonomously editing a print magazine and digital content is required, organising shoots and interviews is preferred, combined with knowledge of how to engage readers with travel stories. The key here is to put together a strong story list that sells both the magazine’s award-winning IFE content and its global destinations.

About You

You'll bring proven experience in an Editor role, having worked autonomously on a monthly print magazine, and you're full of ideas. You're constantly spotting opportunities for new stories, angles and features, with your ear to the ground on the trends and global affairs shaping travel. You're exceptionally organised and efficient, able to juggle multiple projects at once, take initiative and find solutions rather than waiting for direction. You'll have experience developing content for digital platforms, including social media, alongside a track record in account management and building strong relationships with stakeholders and partners. You're also comfortable managing both a budget and a team. Degree educated, you're proficient in Adobe InDesign and understand the realities of print production, and you thrive under pressure, consistently delivering to tight deadlines without compromising on quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Producing the magazine and digital content on time and to budget to the satisfaction of the client
  • Briefing and commissioning journalists best suited for each story
  • Writing sparkling stories and editing commissioned pieces so that all copy champions the brands’ tone of voice
  • Working closely with the art team to create dynamic, eye-catching layouts
  • Managing the production workflow
  • Meticulously editing and proofing content
  • Successfully maintaining and evolving the close relationship with the client
  • Working closely with the Editor, Art Director and supporting the commercial team
  • Managing the sub-editor and freelancer writers
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with PRs, tourism boards, brands and travel industry contacts to generate exclusive stories and opportunities
  • Potentially accompanying celebrity cover shoots and editorial photoshoots overseas

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience in a senior editorial role, ideally as an Associate Editor or Senior Editor
  • Exceptional writing, editing and commissioning skills
  • Experience planning, commissioning and producing premium print magazines from concept through to publication
  • Strong understanding of digital publishing, SEO and audience engagement
  • Experience managing editorial schedules and working to tight production deadlines

Desirable Experience

  • Working knowledge of the aviation sector
  • Experience covering hotels, hospitality or loyalty programmes
  • Understand editorial content creation across newsletters, podcasts, video and social-first platforms
  • An established network of contacts across the travel industry
