About Us

For almost 50 years, Business Traveller has been the trusted authority on business travel, delivering independent journalism and expert insight into the airlines, hotels, destinations, technology and trends shaping modern travel. Today, Business Traveller is much more than a magazine. As a truly multi-platform media brand, we connect with millions of readers across print, digital, newsletters, social media, video, podcasts and live events, continuing to evolve how business travellers discover, experience and navigate the world.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Deputy Editor to join our editorial team and help shape the next chapter of the Business Traveller brand. Working alongside the Editor-in-Chief, you’ll play a central role in the planning, commissioning and editing of Business Traveller’s flagship print magazine, whilst contributing to the brand’s wider editorial output across digital, newsletters, social media, video and live experiences.

This is an opportunity for an experienced senior editor to help shape one of the travel industry’s most respected brands. You will bring ideas, editorial judgement and creativity to every issue, helping deliver ambitious, authoritative journalism that serves today’s global business traveller.

While the print magazine remains at the heart of the role, we’re looking for someone who understands that great editorial extends well beyond the printed page. You should be equally comfortable commissioning exclusive interviews, insightful features, destination reviews and sharp industry analysis as you are contributing to digital content, newsletters and multimedia storytelling.

At Business Traveller, we believe the best journalism goes beyond reporting announcements. We’re looking for someone who enjoys finding the story behind the story—someone who can combine authoritative reporting with thoughtful analysis, helping our readers understand not just what’s changing in travel, but why it matters.

About You

You’ll be comfortable operating in a senior editorial role and are now looking for an opportunity to play a significant role in the future of one of the travel industry’s most respected brands.

A knowledge of travel journalism is essential. You’ll understand the industry, have an instinct for identifying stories that matter, and possess the editorial confidence to move beyond the press release to deliver journalism that informs, analyses and inspires.

You’ll be an exceptional writer and editor with a sharp eye for detail, outstanding organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced editorial environment. Most importantly, you’ll be collaborative. This role is about working closely with the Editor-in-Chief and wider editorial team to produce outstanding journalism across every platform, bringing ideas, curiosity and creativity to everything you do.

  • Help manage flat planning, production schedules and editorial workflows from concept through to publication
  • Collaborate with designers, photographers, contributors and commercial colleagues to deliver market-leading editorial
  • Contribute to Business Traveller’s editorial strategy across print, digital, newsletters, video, podcasts and social media
  • Ensure content is optimised for digital audiences through SEO best practice and audience-focused storytelling
  • Represent Business Traveller at industry events, launches, conferences and international press trips
  • Help mentor freelance contributors and junior members of the editorial team

  • Experience managing editorial schedules and working to tight production deadlines
  • The right to work in the UK

  • Working knowledge of the aviation sector
  • Experience covering hotels, hospitality or loyalty programmes
  • Understand editorial content creation across newsletters, podcasts, video and social-first platforms
