Rapidly expanding Global Broker based in London are keen to hire a Head of Tax Filing with a U.S focus to lead their new ‘Tax Filing as a Service’ product. The role requires SME expertise in U.S withholding tax, FATCA, and the IRS Qualified Intermediary (QI) regime, coupled with strong product management. The role combines tax technical knowledge, regulatory compliance oversight, and client relationship leadership.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring regulatory accuracy and workflow integrity
- Engaging directly with stakeholders to help them understand, adopt, and benefit from the service
- Maintain and optimise the collection and validation logic for W-8IMY, W-8BEN-E, W-8BEN
- Ensure all processes remain fully compliant with IRS regulations, including Chapters 3, 4, 31, and 61 of the US Internal Revenue Code
- Lead client education on QI, NQI, and US payee tax documentation requirements
- SME Advice providing guidance on the completion, validation, and maintenance of W-8/W-9 forms and withholding statements
- Deep understanding of US withholding tax regimes, including: Chapter 3 – Withholding of Tax on Non-resident Aliens and Foreign Entities (QI requirements), FATCA compliance and Chapters 31 & 61 – US payee reporting and information returns (W-9 / 1099)
Requirements
We are keen to hear from U.S Tax SMEs able to work in the UK from a Consulting, ‘Big 4’ or similar, Banking or Broking background. Experience of developing this as a product/service for global clients is an advantage.
