About the Role

This is not a standard entry-level job and it is not for everyone. We are looking for a highly motivated, career-driven junior practitioner who is currently completing or has recently completed a Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification, and who is serious about building a long-term future in paramedical tattooing, advanced skin treatments, and clinic management. This role is designed for someone who understands that education, mentorship, and experience come before high earnings, and that elite training comes with responsibility, commitment, and accountability.

If you are looking for:

  • short-term training or an easy role this position is not suitable.
  • fully funded specialist training
  • long-term career progression
  • the opportunity to grow into a senior role

Role Overview

You will initially join the clinic in a mentorship and work-experience capacity, either while you are still completing your Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification or shortly after you have completed it, gradually progressing into a paid clinical role as your skills, competence, and responsibility develop. Over a multi-year structured progression, this role is designed to move through: junior mentee → advanced regulated practitioner. Progression is earned, not guaranteed.

Early Phase: Mentorship & Work Experience

We cannot begin before completing Level 3 qualification in some cases. (May begin before Level 3 qualification is completed)

Commitment: 1 day per week in clinic for 2 months. Travel expenses covered.

Focus: Learning how the business operates, shadowing and observation, structured mentorship with the clinic owner, completing online learning modules.

In-clinic activities may include (but not limited to):

  • Customer enquiries and inbox support
  • Filing and organising client notes
  • Stock ordering and organisation
  • Preparing patch tests and student kits
  • Creating colour mixing charts and learning resources
  • Supporting general clinic operations

This phase is primarily educational. Productivity is not expected - attitude, effort, and learning ability are.

Training & Treatment Pathway (Fully Funded – Subject to Training Agreement)

A key benefit of this role is access to a fully funded specialist training pathway, provided in exchange for long-term commitment and progression within Ink Illusions. Training follows a structured sequence:

  • Online theory
  • Practical training
  • Mentored clinic days
  • Independent treatments once competent

Stage 1: CPD – Inkless Tattooing MCA Inkless Tattooing Course (CPD Accredited) Mentored treatments followed by independent inkless treatments once competent.

Stage 2: CPD – Full Inking (Camouflage) Completed after sufficient inkless experience. Mentored inking treatments progressing to independent practice.

Stage 3: Regulated Qualifications – Level 4 & Level 5 (Ofqual) Ofqual Regulated Level 4 & Level 5 Paramedical Tattoo Training (Conversion Route) Commenced only after substantial real-world clinical experience. Training costs are fully covered by Ink Illusions. Completion timeline typically spans 2–3 years, depending on pace and performance.

Important: Qualification Retention Requirement

Because this regulated training represents a significant financial and professional investment by Ink Illusions: Certificates for the Level 4 & Level 5 qualifications are not released for personal use immediately upon completion. Release of these certificates is conditional upon the completion of an agreed post-qualification commitment period working within the Ink Illusions clinic. If the candidate chooses to leave the programme early, or does not complete the agreed commitment, the qualifications remain unreleased unless the training costs are repaid. Full details of this arrangement are set out in a formal training and retention agreement, provided at offer stage. This role is therefore not suitable for candidates seeking funded qualifications without long-term commitment.

What You Will Gain From This Role

This role is designed to produce highly capable, business-minded practitioners, not just technicians. By the end of this programme, a committed candidate will:

  • Be fully trained in: Inkless tattooing, Full scar and stretch mark tattoo camouflage, Regulated Level 4 & Level 5 paramedical tattooing.
  • Understand how to run a clinic end-to-end, including: client consultations and conversions, pricing and treatment planning, stock management and ordering, compliance, documentation, and hygiene standards, social media marketing and client acquisition, systems, workflows, and time management.
  • Have real, hands-on experience: treating clients independently, building and retaining a client base, working inside a functioning, professional clinic.

By completion of the programme, you will have the knowledge, experience, and confidence to run or open your own clinic if that is your ultimate goal - or to step into a senior or management role within Ink Illusions. This is an intensive role designed for people who want real capability, not shortcuts.

Beauty Therapy Treatments (Level 3 Qualified)

Once your Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification is completed, you may offer beauty therapy treatments you are qualified and insured in within the clinic. This includes: treating clinic clients, bringing in your own clients, earning income alongside advanced training. All treatments must: remain within qualification and insurance scope, meet clinic standards and protocols, align with the Ink Illusions brand.

Progression to Paid Clinical Work & Pay Structure

Once you have completed your Level 3 qualification (if applicable), and demonstrated competence during the mentoring phase, you will progress to paid clinic work:

Clinic Commitment: Initial 2 days per week, increasing to 3 days and beyond. Long-term aim of full-time clinic involvement.

Pay Progression: Minimum wage during early clinical stages. Commission per client once treating independently. Structured pay increases as responsibility, revenue contribution, and qualifications increase. A further pay step increase once Level 4 & Level 5 qualifications are secured and post-qualification commitment is underway.

Social Media & Marketing (Mandatory)

You will be required to operate an Ink Illusions–branded Instagram.
