About the Role
We are looking for a Medical Copywriter who thrives on transforming complex clinical information into compelling, accurate, and approvable copy. You’ll contribute to the development of scientific storytelling across digital, print, video, and interactive formats—working in partnership with art, strategy, and medical stakeholders to craft persuasive, high‑quality content. This is a role for a writer who loves science and strategy in equal measure—someone who can write for both clarity and compliance, and who understands how language can shift beliefs, behaviours, and health outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Write clear, compelling, and compliant promotional copy for HCP and/or DTP audiences, with increasing ownership over content across tactics.
- Translate complex scientific and clinical data into accessible messaging that aligns with brand strategy and regulatory requirements.
- Develop copy for digital, print, social, video, IVAs, MOAs, websites, and more – ensuring a consistent brand voice and message hierarchy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Art Directors, Editors, Strategists, and Medical/Regulatory to ensure alignment on scientific accuracy, story flow, and execution feasibility.
- Ensure all copy is properly referenced, annotated, and submission‑ready per FDA and OPDP promotional guidelines.
- Support concept development and early‑stage ideation, offering strategic messaging input and bold copy explorations.
- Participate in internal reviews, client meetings, and MLR (Medical, Legal, Regulatory) discussions to advocate for the work and navigate feedback constructively.
Who You Are
- A confident writer with experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical advertising, including medical or scientific content.
- Comfortable working within regulatory and compliance frameworks, with a solid grasp of claim structure, referencing, and label interpretation.
- Curious and rigorous—someone who dives deep into disease areas and clinical data to write accurately and persuasively.
- A collaborative teammate who thrives in a remote, fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary environment.
- Equally capable of strategic thinking and tactical excellence—able to spot opportunities, flag risks, and contribute to big ideas.
- Detail‑oriented and deadline‑driven, managing multiple assignments with focus and follow‑through.
Experience and Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in medical or pharmaceutical copywriting, ideally in an agency setting.
- Strong working knowledge of MLR submission processes and FDA promotional requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to write for multiple audiences (HCP, DTP) and formats (emails, websites, IVAs, video scripts, etc.).
- Degree in advertising, communications, journalism, biomedical sciences, or related field or equivalent preferred.
Bonus Points For
- Experience in rare disease, oncology, or high‑science therapeutic areas.
- Confidence navigating MLR meetings and advocating for approvable messaging.
- Familiarity with Veeva, Annotate, or similar platforms used in pharma review processes.
