The Role

As an Account Director in our International team, you will lead complex client programmes, provide strategic counsel to clients and colleagues, and play a central role in driving the growth of our international business. You will work with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders, including global pharmaceutical companies, multilateral organisations and NGOs, supporting them to navigate evolving health policy landscapes and achieve meaningful impact for patients and populations worldwide. This is a highly strategic and varied role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client leadership & account management: Lead client accounts, including strategy development, and oversee the successful delivery of programmes, ensuring work is delivered on time, on budget and to the highest standard. Direct the development of high‑quality client deliverables, ensuring consistency, quality and strategic alignment. Provide oversight across multiple workstreams and account teams, ensuring seamless delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Strategic counsel & policy leadership: Act as a trusted strategic advisor to clients, providing insight, counsel and actionable recommendations on complex policy and public affairs challenges. Monitor and interpret major policy, political and healthcare developments across key markets and therapeutic areas. Share insights proactively across the business, identifying opportunities and implications for clients.
  • Team leadership & people development: Coach, mentor and line manage team members, supporting their professional growth and performance. Lead the day‑to‑day management of project teams, ensuring high‑quality delivery and effective resource management. Foster a collaborative, inclusive and high‑performing team culture.
  • Business development & growth: Lead the development of proposals, pitches and strategic growth opportunities. Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and support new business acquisition. Build and maintain a strong external network to generate market intelligence and business opportunities. Contribute to the strategic growth and positioning of the International team.
  • Team & culture contribution: Contribute to internal initiatives including DEI, wellbeing and knowledge‑sharing activities. Build subject‑matter expertise in relevant areas of global health policy. Act as a role model within the team, championing collaboration, innovation and excellence.

About You

  • Significant experience in healthcare policy, public affairs or communications, ideally within an international or multi‑market environment.
  • Strong understanding of global health policy, healthcare systems and stakeholder landscapes.
  • Experience working within a consultancy, agency or advisory environment, or closely with global healthcare companies and NGOs.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects and multidisciplinary teams while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and quality.
  • Experience managing client relationships and acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience contributing to business development activities.
  • A proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
