This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse looking for a part time role (20 hours per week) with greater autonomy, flexibility, and the chance to build meaningful long-term relationships with patients in the community. You will support patients receiving home-based IV therapies, including Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), helping them manage treatment safely and confidently within their own homes. Whether your background is in acute care, community nursing, oncology, nutrition, or IV therapy, full specialist training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical skills within a supportive and expanding service.

Job responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care in line with service operating procedures and clinical protocols.
  • Support patients receiving IV therapies and TPN within community and homecare settings.
  • Conduct home visits for therapy initiation, assessment, follow-up care, and ongoing patient support.
  • Provide education and training to patients, carers, and families to promote safe self-management and treatment adherence.
  • Build strong therapeutic relationships with patients while delivering compassionate and personalised care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and electronic patient records.
  • Monitor patient progress and elevate adverse events or clinical concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain and manage clinical equipment and materials safely and effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure positive patient outcomes.
  • Participate in team meetings, service improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development activities.
  • Adhere to safeguarding, infection prevention, governance, and regulatory requirements at all times.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Adult or Childrens Nurse).
  • Minimum of 1 year post-registration experience.
  • Full UK or Irish driving licence.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year post-registration nursing experience.
  • Experience delivering high-quality patient care within clinical or community settings.
  • Experience working independently and managing workload effectively.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
  • Experience in the management and care of vascular access devices, including PICC lines, central venous access devices (CVADs), or similar intravenous access devices.
