Inizio Engage is proud to be supporting a leading pharmaceutical client in the recruitment of a Virtual Diabetes and Obesity Account Specialist. This is a unique opportunity for a commercially astute and digitally fluent sales professional to join a new project, working with a well-established diabetes and obesity portfolio.
In this fully virtual role, you will engage with HCPs across a defined region through remote, omnichannel interactions. You will be responsible for driving prescribing behaviour and market share growth by delivering impactful, insight-driven conversations with primary and specialist care customers.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in virtual selling and a strong understanding of the healthcare landscape who is passionate about improving patient outcomes in diabetes and obesity care in South Africa private market.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver sales performance across a defined virtual territory in alignment with business objectives.
- Engage primary care clinicians and other key stakeholders to grow usage and advocacy of the promoted diabetes portfolio.
- Drive remote, personalised customer interactions using a range of digital tools and visual aids.
- Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues across marketing, medical, and market access to develop and implement local strategies.
- Gather customer and environmental insights to support account planning and resource prioritisation.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the local healthcare environment and how it impacts treatment access and prescribing behaviour.
- Proven experience in a pharmaceutical sales role, ideally with exposure to virtual or remote engagement.
- Strong understanding of key account management, business planning, and omnichannel execution.
- Excellent communication, fluent in English, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Familiarity with healthcare systems and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes in diabetes care.
- Technologically confident, with experience using CRM systems and remote engagement platforms.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed environment.
