Inizio Engage is recruiting an experienced Key Account Manager (KAM) to join a high-performing field team, working on behalf of a leading, valuesâdriven pharmaceutical organisation within the respiratory therapy area. The successful candidate will be employed directly onto our client's headcount.
This is a senior, strategic role focused on shaping local health economies, building longâterm partnerships across Primary and Secondary Care, and driving sustainable commercial growth through collaboration and valueâbased solutions.
The Role
As a Key Account Manager, you will act as the single point of contact for key customers within your allocated Local Health Economies (LHEs). You will lead strategic account planning, influence decisionâmaking at senior NHS levels, and facilitate market access for a marketâleading respiratory portfolio in line with the UK marketing strategy and local customer plans.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary customer contact, guiding customers to appropriate internal functions such as education, medical support, partnership opportunities and valueâadded services
- Champion the Voice of the Customer, using insights and feedback to shape strategy and engagement
- Develop and deliver strategic customer and account plans to drive business growth across LHEs
- Identify and execute commercial opportunities through robust business planning and financially sound proposals
- Shape local health economies to support formulary and guideline inclusion at account level
- Build and maintain longâterm partnerships, positioning the organisation as a respiratory partner of choice
- Develop and manage Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) across Primary and Secondary Care
- Support and deliver educational initiatives, including sourcing, briefing and managing speakers
- Manage KOL slide development and speaker contracting in line with SOPs
- Lead commercial agreement discussions, including rebate and valueâbased arrangements
- Pioneer a mix of digital and faceâtoâface engagement, using customer insights and technology to maximise impact
- Coâcreate solutions aligned to customer challenges, including service offerings, collaborative projects and medical education
- Deliver agreed KPIs including sales performance, NPS, project delivery and customer satisfaction
- Operate at all times in line with the ABPI Code of Practice, company policies and values
- Support organisational commitments to sustainability and responsible business practices
About You
You will be a highly credible and strategic pharmaceutical professional with deep experience of navigating complex NHS environments and influencing senior stakeholders.
Essential experience and skills include:
- Exceptional understanding of NHS structures, policy and the wider healthcare agenda
- Proven track record of consistent commercial delivery against targets
- Advanced selling, negotiation and presentation skills
- Outstanding disease and product knowledge, with the ability to communicate complex clinical and technical information
- Strong experience of Key Account Management, including shaping and influencing LHEs
- Highly developed business planning and financial acumen
- Experience managing procurement, tendering and commercial agreements
- Ability to build and influence relationships at senior NHS levels
- Excellent analytical and critical reasoning skills, using data to inform strategic planning
- Strong IT capability and confidence using digital platforms
- Full UK driving licence (with no more than 6 penalty points for new entrants)
