European Commercial Leadership | Partner Markets | Veterinary Portfolio

Location: Europe

Travel: Regular travel across Europe

Lead a diverse European business with real commercial ownership. Our client, a leading international pharmaceutical organisation, is seeking a commercially driven leader to take ownership of its European Commercial Partnerships and Veterinary Business. This is a unique opportunity to lead an established €20 million business across a diverse portfolio of partner-led, hybrid, indirect and B2B markets, while driving the growth of a developing veterinary business.

Reporting directly to the Head of International Commercial, you'll play a key role in shaping commercial strategy, improving partner performance and delivering sustainable growth across Europe.

The Opportunity

This is much more than a distributor management role. You'll have full commercial ownership of a complex European business spanning Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Ireland, Central & Eastern Europe, the Baltics, the Balkans and other partner-led markets. Working across multiple routes to market, you'll develop commercial strategy, strengthen partner governance, optimise pricing and tender performance, and create a scalable platform for future growth. Alongside this, you'll lead the strategic development of the company's veterinary portfolio, identifying new commercial opportunities and strengthening customer engagement across veterinary channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the commercial strategy across European partner-led, hybrid and indirect markets.
  • Own revenue, profitability, forecasting and overall business performance for an established European portfolio.
  • Build strong governance frameworks for commercial partners, including performance scorecards, business reviews and improvement plans.
  • Lead pricing strategy, tender excellence and commercial policy across multiple markets.
  • Evaluate routes to market and recommend partner, distributor or commercial model changes where appropriate.
  • Improve forecasting, inventory management and supply chain collaboration.
  • Develop and implement a clear growth strategy for the veterinary business across Europe.
  • Work closely with regional commercial teams and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver commercial excellence.

About You

We're looking for an experienced international commercial leader with a proven ability to drive performance through partners and indirect commercial models. You'll ideally bring:

  • Significant European commercial leadership experience within pharmaceuticals, healthcare or animal health.
  • Demonstrated success managing multi-country distributor, partner or hybrid-market businesses with full commercial accountability.
  • Proven ownership of revenue, margin, forecasting and business planning across multiple markets.
  • Strong experience in pricing, tenders, commercial contracts and route-to-market strategy.
  • A track record of improving partner performance through structured governance, challenge and collaboration.
  • Excellent commercial judgement supported by strong analytical capability.
  • Experience influencing senior internal stakeholders and external commercial partners within complex matrix organisations.
  • Fluent English, with additional European languages considered advantageous.
  • Experience within veterinary pharmaceuticals, animal health or specialist healthcare channels would be highly desirable, although candidates from broader pharmaceutical partner-market leadership backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.

Why Apply?

  • Lead a strategically important European commercial business with genuine P&L ownership.
  • Shape commercial strategy across multiple countries, partners and business models.
  • Drive meaningful improvements in growth, profitability and commercial execution.
  • Develop an exciting veterinary business alongside an established pharmaceutical portfolio.
  • Join a collaborative international organisation where your leadership will directly influence future commercial success.

Interested? If you're an experienced commercial leader with expertise in partner markets, distributor management or international business leadership, we'd welcome a confidential discussion. All applications and enquiries will be handled in the strictest confidence.
