We are excited to recruit a Transport Planner for our client in Stoney Stanton. This pivotal role will ensure our client delivers an outstanding customer experience while coordinating daily operations within their busy Stoney Stanton depot. This includes managing vehicle rentals, servicing, and maintenance across our extensive fleet of over 1,000 vehicles and 40 trailers, with high standards of safety and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer-Focused Negotiation: Proactively negotiate tailored solutions for each rental request while balancing customer requirements with company profit margins and resource management.
- Supplier Coordination: Negotiate and manage supplier agreements for third-party resources like cross-hire vehicles and agency drivers, ensuring costs remain controlled and purchase invoices are processed efficiently.
- Team Management: Lead and motivate a team of ‘Driver Checkers,’ fostering a positive, can-do culture and ensuring compliance with HGV driving legislation.
- Vehicle Movement Management: Oversee the movement of all vehicles, ensuring safe and effective planning to minimize reliance on third-party agencies.
- Customer Liaison: Communicate effectively with customers via phone and in-person to provide support and resolve inquiries.
- Vehicle Readiness: Ensure that all rental vehicles are in excellent working condition, with all necessary documentation (compliance evidence, rental agreements, check sheets) in place before rental.
