Salary – £25,000

Hours – 37.5 hours per week (Mon – Fri) + Overtime available

We are looking for a motivated
Assistant Technician
to join our Building Pathology team at Initivo. This developmental role offers hands-on training and experience in the construction industry, from operating access plant and sampling materials to analysing data and supporting technical reporting.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a technical background who is keen to build their career through training, mentorship, and real project experience.

What you\’ll do

• Manage and maintain technical equipment, tools, and materials
• Assist with planning rotas, resources, and survey preparations
• Support on-site investigations, including access plant operation, coring, and data gathering
• Prepare and organise samples for laboratory testing
• Contribute to technical reports and data presentation
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are followed
• Collaborate closely with consultants, senior staff, and project teams

What we\’re looking for

• Level 2–3 qualification (or equivalent experience) in construction, engineering, design & technology, or related discipline
• Basic knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and investigative techniques
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Confidence using hand tools and measuring equipment
• Team player with a positive, proactive attitude
• Flexibility to work on-site, in the office, and occasionally outside regular hours
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
