Verwood CE First School is looking for a Senior Administration Officer to join our fantastic team. This role is a permanent, part‑time position of 26 hours per week for 39 weeks per year, with an expected increase to 35 hours per week from June 2026. Approximate start date 1 January 2026.

Description

We are looking for someone with previous office administration experience who can prioritise and work to conflicting deadlines. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Managing day‑to‑day administrative tasks for the school and Trust central team.
• Regularly liaising with staff, pupils, parents and external stakeholders.
• Deputising as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in the absence of the Headteacher, with appropriate training provided.
• Maintaining records, scheduling meetings and handling correspondence.
• Supporting the school’s operational and safeguarding objectives.

The ideal candidate will work 9:30 am – 3:00 pm three days per week, and 9:30 am – 3:30 pm two days per week. These hours include a 30‑minute lunch break.

Qualifications

• Previous office administration experience.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Awareness of safeguarding policies (or willingness to receive training).
• Experience working with schools or similar environments (preferred).
