The Sir John Colfox Academy is looking for a Cover Supervisor to join our fantastic team. This job is for 30 hours per week and 38.2 weeks per year. It is offered on a Permanent basis. Approximate start date March/April 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes while students complete work set by a teacher during short-term absence, managing resources and student behaviour in the classroom across a range of subjects.
- The ability to cover lessons in Physical Education (PE) would be an advantage but is not a necessary requirement for the role.
- Provide flexible support in a wider range of roles, which could include supporting the Learning Resource Centre, creating resources in reprographics, contributing to school displays, or supporting a subject they have specific skills or interests in.
- Be open to contributing ideas regarding skills they could offer during times when cover supervision is not required.
Qualities & Qualifications:
- Qualities: firmness and patience, flexibility, good communication skills, and the ability to relate to young people.
- Applicants should be literate and numerate with an education standard equating to GCSE Grade C in English and Maths, or equivalent NVQ level 2 or 3, or BTEC in Learning Support.
