Sales Associate

Overview

We are seeking an outgoing and experienced Sales Associate who is passionate about customer service to work in our monogramming studio at Peter Jones in Sloane Square. You’ll be at the heart of one of the most exciting retail environments in the UK. You’ll be part of a supportive team in building performance in this brand new part of our business, raising it's profile within John Lewis and beyond, and most importantly, creating a design-led shopping experience for our customers. This isn’t a typical Sales Associate role, it’s a platform for growth within a new division of our business. It’s also an opportunity to learn about retail from within the John Lewis Partnership ecosystem, one of the best in the world with exposure to directors and leaders who regularly visit the store to see what excellence looks like.

Duties

• Oversee daily shop operations, ensuring efficiency and excellent customer service standards.
• Manage customer enquiries with professionalism, courtesy and a proactive attitude.
• Take meticulous order notes and support the production team in executing those orders.
• Maintain an neat and attractive retail space that encourages customer interaction and promotes our monogramming service effectively.
• Market our business proactively to shoppers in store as well as by developing relationships with shop staff and with other shops in the Sloane Square neighbourhood.
• Help set sales goals and develop strategies to maximise revenue and optimise the monogramming studio concept.
• Analyse sales data to identify trends and implement improvements in sales management strategies.
• Handle administrative duties such as daily sales reports, client data bases, ordering supplies, etc.
• Foster a positive team environment through leadership, motivation, clear communication and teamwork.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the shop environment.

Experience

• Experience, with references, within retail or similar environments.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; written and spoken fluency in English is required.
• Previous experience in customer service roles demonstrating excellent people and organisational skills.
• A willingness to be proactive and brand-positive with clients to bring new clients in to the studio.
• Familiarity with Shopify retail management software and point-of-sale system is preferred.
• An interest in textiles, graphic design or fashion helpful.
• This position offers a creative, fun and engaging environment for a motivated retail sales associate with a desire to assume increasing management roles.
• We’ll invest heavily in your development, offering training and opportunities to progress into senior management.
