Senior QA Automation Engineer – Contract Outside IR35

The Job

As a Senior QA engineer you will be a core part of the engineering function for a transforming organisation who are modernising everything they do. You will work with a small collaborative team and have a lot of autonomy.

Requirements:

• Frontend & Backend Testing
• Writing and executing automated test cases for UI and APIs
• Using tools like Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright for frontend automation
• API testing with Postman, RestAssured, or similar tools
• Negative Testing
• Identifying edge cases and unexpected inputs
• Ensuring system stability under invalid or extreme conditions
• Validating security and error-handling mechanisms
• Developing a Testing Framework / Practice
• Setting up automated test suites for regression and integration testing
• Implementing CI/CD pipelines with automated tests
• Writing test automation scripts in C#
• Using NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest for unit and integration testing
• Able to contribute to backend development when testing workload is low
• Experience with .NET Core/.NET 6+ for API development
• Writing and optimizing database queries (Entity Framework, SQL)
• Debugging and fixing backend issues alongside the development team

About You

You will be an experienced QA, who is keen to progress and be involved in fast moving projects. You will be technically strong as an automated & manual tester working with Typescript, Playwright, CI/CD (e.g CircleCI), GIT (or similar) . You must be a great communicator and happy to work in a business that is transforming.
