We are hiring a Principal / Platform Engineer to help build the future infrastructure platform for a brand-new international i Gaming operator as they launch across Europe and beyond.

This is a genuinely rare opportunity to join an early-stage, heavily backed startup where infrastructure, automation and scalability are at the heart of the business strategy.

As Principal / Senior Platform Engineer, you will take ownership of the company’s cloud infrastructure, Dev Ops tooling and automation capability as the business scales internationally across multiple regulated markets.

The company has already built a highly automated cloud-native environment with infrastructure fully managed as code and deployed primarily within GCP.

This role is critical to the long-term success of the business.

You will work closely with the CTO and co-founders to evolve a scalable, secure and cloud-agnostic infrastructure platform capable of supporting significant transaction volume and rapid international growth.

The business expects substantial scale over the next two years, including millions of daily transactions and high-volume realtime data processing across multiple markets.

This is not just an operational support role.

You will influence cloud architecture decisions, improve automation, optimise infrastructure costs and help shape long-term engineering standards across the platform.

The company is heavily invested in automation, AI tooling and modern engineering practices.

They run collaborative weekly learning sessions across the business and have created a genuinely curious, knowledge-sharing culture where engineers have a strong voice in shaping the future platform.

Tools & Technology

The infrastructure environment is modern, cloud-native and heavily automated, with a strong focus on scalability, observability, security and infrastructure-as-code.

You will work with technologies including

  • Terraform
  • Git Hub Actions
  • Argo CD
  • Infrastructure as Code (Ia C)
  • Bash & Python Scripting
  • Observability & Monitoring Tooling
  • Security & Automation Guardrails

About You

  • You have deep experience building and managing Infrastructure as Code environments using Terraform.
  • You are comfortable operating within cloud-native, highly automated production environments.
  • You understand scalable cloud architecture and how to build infrastructure capable of supporting high transaction volume and rapid international growth.
  • You have strong scripting capability using Bash, Python or similar technologies.
  • You are comfortable working across CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes environments and deployment automation tooling.
  • You understand cloud cost optimisation and operational scalability.
  • You are someone who enjoys ownership and wants to help shape engineering standards and platform direction.
  • You are proactive, collaborative and comfortable working closely with engineers, founders and non-technical stakeholders in a small team environment.
  • Exposure to multi-cloud or cloud-agnostic architecture would be highly beneficial.
  • Experience within i Gaming, fintech, realtime platforms or high-availability environments would be advantageous but is not essential.

This business is a brand-new online i Gaming operator founded by an experienced leadership team with ambitious international growth plans.

They currently operate from London and Malta, with London becoming the long-term technology and marketing hub. Malta houses customer operations, fraud and payment functions.

Engineering currently consists of a Principal Engineer, Data Engineer and specialist outsourced partners.

Their vision is to build world-class internal technology capability as they scale globally across multiple regulated markets.

The culture is highly collaborative, low ego and learning-focused.

Weekly company-wide knowledge-sharing sessions are a core part of the business, and people are encouraged to contribute ideas regardless of title or function.
