As an Application Support Analyst, you’ll play a vital cross-functional role within the IT function of a dynamic and forward-thinking insurer operating in the specialty and Lloyd’s markets. Sitting in the Database Development Team, you'll support and enhance complex in-house systems that underpin core insurance and finance operations.

This is a hands-on hybrid role combining systems analysis, SQL/database development, and application support. You’ll work closely with business stakeholders to translate regulatory and operational requirements into technical specifications, support month-end processing, and deliver small-scale development solutions. You’ll be a key player in keeping essential systems running smoothly while helping evolve the technical landscape of the business.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide analysis, troubleshooting, and support for complex in-house insurance systems
  • Support critical month-end processes and assist in overnight job monitoring and issue resolution
  • Translate business and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable technical documentation
  • Collaborate across IT and business teams to understand financial calculations and insurance workflows
  • Carry out small change development and data updates using SQL/T-SQL
  • Assist with testing, data migration, and system upgrades across production and development environments
  • Engage with tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub/TFS, and ServiceNow to track and manage workload
About You

You’re an experienced analyst or support specialist with a strong grasp of insurance systems, and you thrive in an environment where finance, technology, and business meet. Here’s what sets you apart:

  • Strong knowledge of specialty insurance and reinsurance, particularly in the Lloyd’s and London markets
  • Proven experience supporting financially integrated systems involving calculations, reporting, and reconciliations
  • Confident writing and interpreting technical documentation and SQL queries (T-SQL)
  • Familiarity with Lloyd’s data standards and regulatory reporting
  • Hands-on understanding of Verisk / Sequel Eclipse, or similar core insurance platforms
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, TFS/GitHub, ServiceNow, and data migration tasks
  • Flexible approach to working hours to support critical business cycles when needed
