About us
Solar4Business is a growing, privately owned company that designs and delivers commercial solar PV across the UK. Working alongside our sister company Inicio Funding Solutions, we also offer zero-capex Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) so businesses can go solar with no upfront cost.
We work with manufacturers, hospitality, leisure and property businesses across the UK, from single rooftops to multi-site portfolios. We are a small, hands-on team, so you will work directly with the directors and see how every deal is won, designed, priced and built.
The role
This is a graduate role with a clear purpose: to learn, and over time take ownership of, our solar design and PPA work. You will be trained by our Group Operations Manager on the commercial side and by our Technical Delivery Director on design and delivery.
You will learn industry tools including OpenSolar, CAD and PVsyst, help price and present PPA proposals, and help manage small to medium solar projects from survey to handover. Responsibility grows as your skills do, with a real route to becoming a qualified Solar Designer or a Solar Project Manager.

Solar design
Produce rooftop and ground-mount PV layouts in OpenSolar, using site surveys, drawings and satellite imagery
Prepare CAD drawings and layouts for proposals and installation packs
Run energy yield and shading models in PVsyst, and sense-check outputs
Analyse half-hourly (HH) consumption data to size systems and batteries against a site's actual demand
Review installer (EPC) designs and quotes for quality, cost and compliance
Commercial and PPA support
Help build PPA and purchase proposals: tariffs, export value, savings and payback
Maintain pricing models and keep supplier and component pricing up to date
Prepare customer-facing proposals and present them alongside the directors
Keep deals, contacts and documents up to date in our CRM (HubSpot)
Work with partners, installers and suppliers to gather information and move deals forward
Project delivery
Help manage small to medium commercial solar projects from contract to handover
Coordinate surveys, installers, DNO applications and equipment orders
Track programme, budget, risks and documentation for each project
Visit sites for surveys, progress checks and handovers
Keep customers informed and make sure handover packs are complete

Essential
A degree (or graduating in 2026) in engineering, renewable energy, physics, environmental science, construction or a related subject
Strong numeracy and confidence in Excel
A genuine interest in solar and the energy transition
Clear written and spoken communication, comfortable talking to customers and contractors
Organised, curious and keen to take on responsibility quickly
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites
Desirable
Exposure to CAD, OpenSolar, PVsyst or similar modelling software
An internship, placement or project in renewables, energy or construction
Some understanding of commercial energy bills, tariffs or half-hourly data
Interest in working towards MCS, project management (e.g. APM or PRINCE2) or solar design qualifications
