About the Role
As an Art, Creative Arts & DT Teacher, you will deliver engaging and personalised learning to students within a supportive specialist setting, helping them develop creativity, confidence, independence and essential life skills. Working with small classes and individual learners, you'll plan and deliver high-quality lessons, monitor progress, and create stimulating learning environments tailored to each student's needs.
You'll play a key role in developing and coordinating your subject area, implementing individual education and behaviour plans, and supporting students to achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally. Working closely with support staff, families and multidisciplinary colleagues, you'll ensure a consistent approach to education, wellbeing and behaviour management, enabling students to develop self-regulation and reach their full potential.
As part of our committed team, you'll contribute to school improvement initiatives, maintain high standards of safeguarding and teaching practice, and help create a safe, inclusive and inspiring environment where every student can thrive.
What you will be doing
- Deliver engaging Art, Creative Arts and DT lessons to individuals and small groups.
- Support/ teach Food Technology when required.
- Monitor, assess and report on student progress and achievements.
- Create stimulating learning environments that inspire creativity and engagement.
- Develop and implement personalised education and behaviour plans.
- Lead and coordinate curriculum delivery, assessment and subject development.
- Support students in developing self-regulation, confidence and independence.
- Contribute to school improvement initiatives and wider school life.
About You
- QTS/QTLS or equivalent required.
- Experience teaching Art, Creative Arts, DT or related subjects.
- Has a creative and innovative approach to teaching and learning.
- Can engage, motivate and inspire students with diverse learning needs.
- Builds positive relationships with students, colleagues and families.
- Has strong classroom management skills and a calm, resilient approach.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
- Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Is passionate about helping every student achieve their potential.
- Driving licence required
