As an Account Director (AD) at iNHouse you will direct the implementation and delivery of public affairs and strategic comms programmes for clients. Working with the support of our Account Managers and Senior Account Managers to ensure delivery, your role will be to develop strategies and activity plans that deliver against the client’s objectives with clear links to the clients’ business goals. Taking overall responsibility for a portfolio of accounts, you will be accountable for ensuring that the team is working well, that our KPIs are met and that we are making a tangible difference to our clients.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Leading the implementation and delivery of agreed client programmes with minimum input across 4-6 accounts, ensuring excellent client service and satisfaction.
  • Advising clients on how to achieve their public affairs goals, developing strategic programmes to achieve business objectives.
  • Setting clear KPIs for every client project and ensuring these are fully understood by the team and agreed with the client.
  • Ensuring client expectations are proactively managed with a 6-9 month forward view and that activity remains focused within the agreed scope of work.
  • Consistently adding value to client discussions and ensuring active monitoring of political, policy and relevant stakeholder/influencer agendas in order to guide all advice and decisions.
  • Becoming an expert in the business of your clients, and being able to articulate this to your team.
  • Running motivated and effective account teams, acting as a mentor and coach to enhance team members' development, in addition to line managing some junior team members.
  • Playing a leading role in new business growth, by securing renewal of your existing client relationships, spotting opportunities to add additional value from our service offering, and being an active participant in seeking out and responding to new business briefs, including pitching.
  • Recognising the importance of proactively building and maintaining your own network and supporting iNHouse’s unique position as a convener of stakeholders.
  • Being an active participant and personally supportive of the importance of iNHouse events.
  • To be a critical ambassador for the consultancy, confidently representing iNHouse’s expertise and able to differentiate us from the competition.
  • To be actively involved in generating new business opportunities and experienced in inputting to new business pitches.

We're particularly looking for:

  • Solid agency experience, or experience within another client service environment.
  • Excellent coaching and line management skills with proven ability to teach, motivate and support your junior team.
  • Experience crafting and delivering successful new business pitches.
  • Sector experience in energy, infrastructure and tech a plus.
