The role This role will be responsible for managing a caseload of probate matters from instruction through to completion, ensuring that estates are administered efficiently, compliantly and with a high standard of client care.
You will work closely with clients, beneficiaries and third parties, providing guidance and support throughout the probate process.
- What you'll be doing
- Managing a caseload of probate files, including both taxable and non-taxable estates.
- Preparing and submitting probate applications and associated documentation.
- Collecting and valuing estate assets and liabilities.
- Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, HMRC, financial institutions and other third parties.
- Drafting estate accounts and ensuring accurate distribution of assets.
- Providing clear and timely updates to clients throughout the probate process.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with legal requirements, company procedures and service level agreements.
- Identifying and escalating any risks or complex issues to senior team members where appropriate.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date file records and case management systems.
- Supporting continuous improvement of probate processes and systems.
- Drafting Wills and Lasting Power’s of Attorney’s
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties requested by management.
- What you'll bring Essential
- Previous experience handling probate or estate administration matters.
- Good understanding of probate procedures, inheritance tax and estate administration.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
- Excellent communication and client care skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Legal qualification - LPC or CILEX with practising rights.
- Experience dealing with complex or high-value estates.
- Familiarity with case management systems.
- Experience working to performance targets or service level agreements.
