Hours: Monday-Sunday, 36 hours a week, 3x12hr Shifts

InHealth sees more than 5 million patients each year and diagnostic imaging is one of the busiest services that we provide. We are looking to recruit a Senior Radiographer in Yeovil to support a nationwide programme to enhance the availability of diagnostic Radiography in the community.

This role will be cross sectional working across MRI, CT and X-ray. You will have advance clinical knowledge and experience in MRI or CT.

What you will do:

  • Ensure patients receive the best standard of care while generating high-quality images.
  • Deliver an effective and professional service in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Carry out modality specific imaging procedures to the best practice standards of Radiographic Techniques.

What you are responsible for:

  • Providing a great experience for patients attending their diagnostic procedure.
  • Running quality assurance checks on equipment and acting as appropriate.
  • Respecting and working within patients' and service users' customs, values and spiritual beliefs.
  • Performing triage functions of referrals, as required.
  • Supporting patient bookings and maintaining accurate patient information systems.
  • Completing competency assessments.
  • Adhering to all operational procedures.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Working as a practice educator, assisting placement students and colleagues.
  • Sharing knowledge and clinical experience with the wider team.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • BSc Radiography or equivalent.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body and holds a valid registration (HCPC).
  • A strong understanding of fundamental MRI and CT physics and different scanning techniques.
  • A proven knowledge of the requirements of a radiographer's role regarding patient care.
  • A high level of professionalism and technical standard of work.
  • Aptitude towards improving quality.
  • The ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Understanding of the implications of the Data Protection Act, Caldicott Principles and GDPR.
  • A flexible approach to work and able to work across 7 days (Mon-Sun).
  • A strong team player attitude.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • A positive attitude and passion for the service provided.

You should apply if you have experience:

  • Working with MRI and CT equipment in either a hospital or mobile setting.
  • In both routine and complex MRI and CT examinations.
  • In different courses such as infection control training, manual handling, basic life support.
  • Scanning with contrast.
  • In health and safety policies and procedures with imaging equipment.
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Supporting other members of the team in their development and training.
