Role Overview
In Health sees more than 5 million patients each year and diagnostic imaging is one of the busiest services that we provide.
As a leading specialist provider, we are partnering with the NHS to develop new Community Diagnostic Centres.
We are now recruiting a Superintendent Radiographer to support the Service Manager and manage a team of Radiographers while working clinically.
Responsibilities
- Support staff, clinical leadership and deputise for the Service Manager.
- Operate in accordance with local guidelines and company policies to deliver a service aligned to contractual and governance requirements.
- Work a mix of clinical shifts and support the Service Manager with day‑to‑day running of the unit.
- Undertake MRI, CT and X‑ray scans in line with modality‑specific clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Ensure the service delivers the highest standard of patient care and meets customer expectations.
- Help maintain a clean and safe building in line with IPC standards; report maintenance issues to the Service Manager.
- Support rota planning to ensure sufficient resource availability.
- Oversee day‑to‑day activity across a 7‑day service and stay up to date on In Health processes and procedures.
- Recruit, induct, train and support Radiography, Respirator and Phlebotomy staff.
- Maintain good communication with the team and all stakeholders.
- Deputise as Service Manager when required and support ad‑hoc duties.
Qualifications and Experience
- Academic: BSc in diagnostic radiography or equivalent.
- Professional: HCPC registration.
- Experience leading teams with coaching and mentoring ability.
- Understanding of CQC fundamental standards, Health & Safety, Infection Control, Data Protection Act and Caldicott Principles.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritise conflicting demands.
- Well‑developed organisational and time‑management skills.
- Desire to motivate and lead, with a drive to exceed expectations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in basic and complex MRI and CT procedures (specialisation in one modality acceptable).
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team in hospital, community or mobile environments.
