InHealth sees more than 5 million patients each year and diagnostic imaging is one of the busiest services that we provide. Our radiographers are a vital part of the InHealth team and are responsible for ensuring our patients receive the best standard of care, generating high-quality images as part of their pathway. We are looking for a Senior MRI Radiographer to join our MRI Radiography department in Slough.
Main duties of the job:
- Carry out magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures to best practice standards of radiographic technique (MHRA Guidance 2015, IR(ME)R 2017, Code of Clinical Practice).
- Provide a great experience for patients attending for MRI scanning, supporting them through the process from referral to results.
- Run quality assurance checks on equipment and take appropriate action.
- Respect and work within patients and service users' customs, values and spiritual beliefs, making sure their views are sought and taken into account.
- Perform triage functions of referrals, as required.
- Support patient bookings and keep Patient Information Systems accurate and up-to-date.
- Understand and work in line with our suite of corporate policies supporting personal and clinical safety, including the Health and Safety Policy and Infection Prevention and Control Policy.
- Demonstrate safe, effective practice in line with policies and procedures.
- Maintain professional competencies and CPD.
- Take ownership and fulfil statutory and mandatory training requirements.
- Complete competency assessments.
Job responsibilities:
- Hours: Monday-Sunday, 3 x 12-hour shifts between 7 am and 9 pm (typically).
- Location: Slough.
- Start date: March 2026.

- Assist placement students and other colleagues in the achievement of their learning outcomes.
- Share knowledge and clinical expertise.
What are you responsible for:
- Adhering to all operational procedures as outlined by InHealth.
- Maintaining a high level of professionalism, customer care, and service provision.
- Reporting all incidents and complaints in line with our policies.
- Adhering to the requirements of the Data Protection Act.
- Ensuring the smooth flow of clinical and administrative work.
- Effectively communicating and appropriately responding to all visitors.
- Taking part in governance activities (incident reporting and investigation, audits, personal development, and team meetings).
- Monitoring essential stocks and re-ordering as required.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Complying with policies and procedures, including information security and providing a quality service.
- Assessing referrals for urgency and compliance with MRI specific patient safety policy.
- Providing clinical leadership, supporting the management team.
- Leading and supporting colleagues in the absence of the management team.
Qualifications and experience:
- BSc Radiography or equivalent.
- Membership of an appropriate professional body and holds a valid registration (HCPC).
- A strong understanding of fundamental MRI physics and different scanning techniques and sequences.
- A proven knowledge of the requirements of a radiographer's role regarding the care of patients, their careers and other colleagues.
- A high level of professionalism and technical standard of work.
- Aptitude towards improving quality.
- The ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Understanding of the implications of the Data Protection Act, Caldicott Principles and GDPR.
- A flexible approach to work and able to work across 7 days (Mon-Sun).
- A strong team player attitude, supportive, caring, reliable and trustworthy.
- The ability to be calm when working under pressure and in a busy environment.
- A positive attitude, taking pride in their work and being passionate about the service they provide.
Experience you should have:
- Working with MRI equipment in either a hospital or mobile setting.
- In both routine and complex MRI examinations.
- Cardiac MRI and Advanced Neuro Imaging experience is desirable.
- In different courses such as infection control training, manual handling, basic life support.
- Scanning with contrast.
- In health and safety policies and procedures with imaging equipment.
- Working in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Supporting other members of the team, their development and training.
