An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Senior Clinical Skills Educator to join the InHealth Team. Reporting to the Group Resuscitation Lead and collaborating closely with learning and development and clinical governance colleagues, you will become an integral part of our dedicated team committed to delivering comprehensive, efficient, and effective services across the InHealth Group.
The role of the Senior Clinical Skills Educator involves delivering clinical education sessions, facilitating deteriorating patient and cardiac arrest simulations, and undertaking audit activities at InHealth locations across the UK. You will directly support the Resuscitation Lead and deputise in their absence.
The Senior Clinical Skills Educator will be required to undertake the physical effort of teaching clinical skills including chest compressions, airway management and moving and handling patients. A valid UK driving licence, plus the ability to meet the travel requirements of the post for business purposes is essential. The role will cover the South, but may involve national travel as required. Full time, part time or bank hours will be considered.
What you will do:
- Teach on RCUK Immediate Life Support (ILS), RCUK Paediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS), Acute Illness Management (AIM), Basic Life Support (BLS) and Moving and Handling (MH) courses.
- Take on the role of Course Director for RCUK Immediate Life Support (ILS) and/or RCUK Paediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS) courses.
- Facilitate deteriorating patient and cardiac arrest simulations in-situ at InHealth sites.
- Deliver clinical skills training such as cannulation and safer sedation.
- Conduct clinical audit, lead resuscitation debriefs and handle administrative tasks.
- Coordinate and advise on emergency equipment provision across all InHealth services.
- Create inspiring and educationally credible learning materials in response to learning from incidents to improve patient safety.
- Support and deputise for the Group Resuscitation Lead.
About you:
- You will be a Registered Nurse, Operating Department Practitioner, or registered Paramedic.
- Significant post-registration within acute or critical care environments.
- Experience within a deteriorating patient, clinical education, or resuscitation education role.
- Resuscitation Council (UK) ILS or PILS Instructor.
- Resuscitation Council (UK) ALS or EPALS Instructor.
- Acute Illness Management Instructor (Desirable).
- Moving and Handling Patients Instructor (Desirable).
- Hold a teaching/assessing qualification (ILSi/GIC/ENB 998/ CertEd).
- Genuine passion for patient safety to make healthcare better.
- Experience within clinical audit i.e. NEWS2, cardiac arrest, sepsis, deteriorating patients etc.
- Valid UK driving licence and ability to travel for business purposes.
- Flexibility to travel to InHealth locations across the UK to provide training to our stakeholders.
Please note, flexibility is expected to accommodate the teaching programme and setting up/packing away of equipment before and after teaching a course. Flexible working patterns and hours of work will be reflective of the requirements to run full day teaching and travel to InHealth locations.
