An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Radiographic Assistant to join the Jarvis Breast Centre, part of InHealth's Surrey & North East Hampshire Breast Screening Service. InHealth is the largest provider of NHS Breast Screening Services in England, and the Jarvis Service is the largest of its kind, supporting the screening of approximately 186,000 women every three years across a static centre and five mobile units. This role is ideal for an organised, proactive individual who enjoys working behind the scenes to support high-quality patient care.
You will play a key role in ensuring imaging, administrative and reporting processes run smoothly, supporting the wider multidisciplinary team and contributing to the effective delivery of a vital NHS screening service. You will work in a supportive, friendly team, with opportunities to develop your skills and gain experience across different areas of breast screening.
Main duties of the job
The Radiographic Assistant will provide essential administrative and operational support to the Breast Screening Service, ensuring efficient day-to-day workflows. Key responsibilities include:
- Downloading and checking images from mobile screening units into PACS
- Preparing and organising paperwork for reporting and arbitration
- Maintaining the master reporting whiteboard
- Communicating regularly with internal colleagues, NHS Trusts, GP practices and external suppliers
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting imaging and reporting processes
You will be expected to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, confidence using IT systems, and a professional, empathetic approach when working with patients and colleagues.
