The Opportunity

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Programme Team Leader to play a key role in delivering a high quality diabetic retinal screening service across Greater Manchester North. In this role, you will work closely with the Programme Manager to lead, support and develop a team of retinal screeners. You will be at the heart of ensuring a seamless, patient focused service, combining strong people leadership with operational excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and support a team of screeners to deliver excellent screening and grading services
  • Provide mentoring, training and constructive challenge to maintain high clinical standards
  • Support team members in achieving their Level 3 Diploma for Health Screeners
  • Assist with staff rota planning and ensure adequate clinic and grading cover at all times
  • Monitor clinic environments to ensure compliance with clinical and organisational standards
  • Work collaboratively with the Programme Manager to meet programme objectives
  • Oversee compliance processes and provide support where required
  • Promote a proactive, solution focused approach to daily challenges
  • Maintain the highest standards of patient care and service delivery

What We Are Looking For

  • Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Diploma or Level 3 Diploma for Health Screeners
  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop others
  • High standard of grading in line with Internal Quality Assurance
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role
  • Experience in rota planning or operational coordination
