Role Overview

The Category Marketing Manager leads the category portfolio in the region across product lines. The role ensures value propositions are clearly articulated, supports consultative selling across Go‑to‑Market teams, and provides sales enablement resources to market the portfolio effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Translate the global category strategy into a regional execution plan and drive its implementation.
  • Represent the region on cross‑functional teams to develop the global category strategy (5+ yr horizon), bringing regional market trends, insights, and unmet needs.
  • Contribute to the regional technical roadmap for the category.
  • Guide the development of the budget & strategic plan for the category and conduct regular profitability analysis to identify improvement actions.
  • Engage with customers in meetings to build market knowledge, inform solution development and help convert sales opportunities through key insights.
  • Support the sales prospecting process by creating target customer lists and tracking progress with “must‑win” customers.
  • Collect and analyze market and competitor intelligence; identify share of wallet and growth headroom per customer, and use these insights to shape strategy and plans.
  • Act as Marketing lead for major category customers, shaping account plans.
  • Lead a cross‑functional team to drive the implementation of the category annual growth plan and pace pipeline development.
  • Partner with Sales and Technical Service to grow the opportunity pipeline for the category.
  • Collaborate with the digital demand team to develop demand‑generation campaigns.
  • Work with the go‑to‑market enablement team to develop or adapt sales enablement tools for regional needs and train the regional team on product portfolio and category insights.
  • Generate a consolidated view of regional priority customer problems and be accountable for business case development for innovation projects.
  • Coordinate execution of new product launches and develop strong value propositions backed by concepts and consumer insights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science/Technology, or related field; postgraduate marketing qualification is a plus.
  • Proven marketing experience, preferably in FMCG/food & beverage with B2B ingredients exposure.
  • Strong expertise in strategic marketing, including product launches, value proposition development, and go‑to‑market execution.
  • Solid business acumen to perform financial/category analysis and translate strategy into sales‑driven tactics.
  • Excellent storytelling and communication skills for crafting insight‑led presentations and sales tools.
  • Experience in international environments and proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of SFDC and ingredient concepts is desirable.
