About the role:
- Undertake day to day operation and maintenance of the food safety and quality management system, ensure accurate and timely data is provided to enable release and delivery of compliant products to our customers.
- Maintain second and third-party certifications and HACCP programs.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the business and participate in continuous improvement projects where required.
- Co-ordinate technical projects with an aim to continually improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of the quality management system.
- Establish quality standards and protocols to ensure material, products and services meet regulatory and organisational requirements.
- Regularly review and monitor processes to ensure adherence to established quality standards and regulatory standards.
- Maintain the HACCP program to ensure required actions taken and reviewed as per schedule.
- Manage the non-conformance process to deliver improvement and identify root cause.
- Assist and support the vendor and product assurance program, ensuring all suppliers are assessed.
- Maintain accurate records of specifications, risk assessments, testing results, and quality documents.
- Maintain approved supplier status with all required customers.
- Provide technical support for Account Managers including responding to customer complaints and customer technical/QA queries.
About you:
- An appropriate Tertiary Qualification in Food Science (or related discipline).
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in the food industry.
- Experience with GFSI recognised schemes desirable (BRCGS).
- Proficient in computer applications including MS Office.
- Experience conducting internal audits and HACCP desirable.
- Good organisational skills, including the ability to plan, manage and complete multiple sets of tasks to meet timeframes.
- Ability to lead and work with cross functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, questioning, seeks accurate knowledge from correct sources.
- Ability to work autonomously with little supervision and prioritise tasks for self-based on importance and risk to business.
- Good people skills, team and staff interaction skills to ensure quality, responsive customer service.
- Continuous Improvement/Initiative – Identifies better ways of working and communicates them to manager.
