In addition to complete systems, Ingredient Batching Systems supports customers in upgrading and optimizing existing process lines. We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team to design and develop equipment and systems for handling, conveying, storage, and processing of dry powders and bulk solids. Key responsibilities include:
- Producing 3D CAD models, general arrangement, manufacturing drawings, and design of equipment involved with pneumatic conveying systems.
- Supporting projects from concept through to manufacture and commissioning.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience in mechanical design within a process, materials handling, or powder processing environment (although not completely necessary as training will be provided).
- A good level of skill with 3D CAD software SolidWorks and 2D AutoCad would be of benefit.
This role requires technical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams. Travelling around the UK and Northern Europe for client visits, meetings and surveys is expected.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for creating 2D drawings and 3D models.
- Experience in Product Design, including concept development, prototyping, and design for manufacturability.
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, P&IDs, and engineering standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
