Job Description
The Senior Operations Manager will lead and oversee LSI operations, ensuring seamless management of production and distribution departments to drive efficiency and performance. Foster a strong partnership between LSI and IPS, managing daily interactions while supporting IPS projects to enhance collaboration and operational success.
Essential Duties:
- Achieves ability to perform all job duties within the Operational workflow by developing full knowledge of all aspects of the operation of high-speed digital printers, laminators, binders, and trimmers within the Production department.
- Implements a fast-paced lean production system.
- Oversees KPIs, goals and objectives for the management team.
- Drives the manufacture and delivery of products on time.
- Build a passionate manufacturing team with a positive, inclusive, results oriented culture.
- Develop, manage, and lead continuous improvement processes, strategies and initiatives.
- Leverage the flexibility of Lean, Six Sigma and Performance Improvement tools to enhance productivity.
- Sets clear goals and expectations for Production and Shift Managers; measures performance, provides feedback, and holds leaders accountable.
- Mentors and develop Shift Managers, Team Leaders and staff.
- Create and encourage an engaging environment that drives continuous improvement and a high-performing culture.
- Drives continuous improvement projects to optimise operations and improve productivity to meet and exceed business objectives; works on strategic projects that have total building and network-wide impact. Effectively leverage the Operations management teams to solicit ideas and understand problems and challenges in the building, effective across LSUK and IPSUK.
- Provide strategic level/long-term planning (3, 6, and 12 months out) including labor planning, rate forecasting, and peak season planning.
- Work closely with support staff (HR, Facilities Engineering, Safety, IT, Operations and other leaders) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives.
- Oversee the supervision of the Production area insuring the timely and accurate movement of materials in and out of the facility. Monitor and execute LSI policies and procedures for HR related issues including associate attendance and timekeeping. Monitor and review associate performance.
- Interview applicants, make hiring recommendations, oversee training and recommend disciplinary measures, as needed, of production to gain consistency across the teams.
- Extract ‘best practices’ and spread throughout the teams to drive efficiency, quality and lower cost.
- Effectively manage the day-to-day interactions between the Ingram facilities, with particular focus on labour sharing, product movement, along with deeper project involvement.

Qualifications
- University degree in Engineering, Operations or related technical field.
- 5 years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce in a manufacturing, production environment with experience in the printing industry a plus.
- 4 years of progressive manufacturing production work experience with clear track record of success.
