We are hiring a Pre-Print Specialist to join our team based in London. At Ingram, our publisher-facing business offers more than just traditional wholesale services. Job Description
- Provides technical assistance to the customer to facilitate the integration of publisher data and content at Lightning Source.
- Responsible for testing, manipulating and validating data files to ensure Ingram compliance.
- Communicates to content submitters any issues or concerns with their data and demonstrates the file adjustment to the customer.
- Interacts regularly with Client Services, Sales, and Operations via email, phone, ticketing systems, and remote and in-person meetings.
- Focus on complex fixes, workflow efficiencies, and communication.
- Ability to speak and read the Arabic language.
- Responds to enquiries – both internal and external - via phone and/or email, regarding technical questions or issues related to content submission and compliance.
- Proactively assists customers with file format set up and submission by providing step-by-step instructions to customers regarding file submissions via web or ftp site.
- Provides file review, analysis and feedback to customers to ensure the successful submission of content, escalating as necessary.
- Performs simple and complex file fixes.
- Provides direction regarding cover template layout, cover template generator and any other file submission processes or procedures.
- Uses Adobe Acrobat Professional, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Word as well as other software and hardware, to achieve desired results in a timely manner in accordance with publisher specifications and the Lightning Source operating manual.
- Prepares digital interiors and covers using client supplied files in formats including PDF, Photoshop, InDesign and other programs, as needed, in accordance with publisher specifications and the LS operating manual and templates.
- Communicates well with Publishers and Client Service Coordinators to resolve issues.
- Accurately troubleshoots manufacturing and file related issues.
- Reviews and processes test files from publishers to generate samples for customer review and discussion.
- Offers creative solutions to technical issues/challenges that may arise as a result of content submissions.
- Assists with the design and layout of both internal and external LS documentation.
Other Duties:
- Learning internal content management systems and product offerings.
- Escalates quality concerns with supplier data to supervisor as appropriate.
- Assist with new customers in technical onboarding and OSA resolution using standard workflows as needed.
- Works directly with PreMedia, Operations, Sales, Client Services and IT, as well as ICG leadership team.
- Performs additional maintenance and services tasks, such as Content Release, Page Count Changes, Design/Typesetting Projects, and Offset File Requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to apply new knowledge, technology, and procedures to job responsibilities.
- Ability to meet critical due dates while delivering quality output.
- Ability to demonstrate personal computing skills including MAC and PC based applications (Office, Excel, Word and Outlook, Photoshop, InDesign, and Adobe programs).
- Knowledge of digital printing processes, electronic file specifications, and electronic prepress processes.
- Knowledge of color theory and application.
- Ability to be flexible/multi-task based on workflow demands.
- Ability to speak, write and read the English language.
- Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintain them over time.
- Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, creativity to changing needs and situations.
- Ability to maintain consistent, punctual and regular attendance.

Basic/Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience:
- A BA (Hons) or BSc (Hons) or directly related year for year experience.
- 2 years using current Adobe software.
- 1 year(s) experience in Content Management Systems.
- Ability to speak and read Arabic.
Essential Physical Demands:
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry.
