Job Description
Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week PM shift 3pm - 11pm
Job Summary
- Manages a team of distribution operatives.
- Communicates company goals, safety practices, and deadlines to team.
- Motivates team members and assesses performance.
- Provides help to management, including hiring and training, and keeps management updated on team performance.
- Communicates concerns and policies among management and team members.
Essential Job Duties:
- Works within the team in any role deemed necessary due to business needs ensuring distribution efforts are maximized on a daily basis.
- Constantly review working practices to provide cost-effective solutions.
- Maintain and improve working procedures.
- Provide accurate management information.
- Supervise Goods in/out, ensure accurate recording of distribution in-house.
- Motivate workforce.
- Work with the Warehouse Manager and other Team Leaders to manage and prioritize staffing assignments to ensure customer demand and production targets are met.
- Execute and coordinate employee training to ensure that procedures are followed and meet all quality requirements.
- Agree and implement measures and targets, monitor and control performance, report on progress and initiate corrective action as required (e.g. Quality and on time delivery).
- Attend daily meetings with the Warehouse Manager and peers, covering for staff absence, filling gaps in resource in all areas and prioritising work requirements and effectively communicating this to the team.
- Use basic problem-solving techniques to ensure stable operation of the work cell.
- Set, monitor and review staff and shift performance.
- Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with the Warehouse Manager and the continuous improvement team.
- To deputise for the Warehouse Manager and other Team Leaders as and when required.
- To provide a positive 'can do' approach to management, whilst leading the team by example.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in the Distribution area and outside loading bay.
- Ensure Health and Safety compliance and programs are being followed where applicable.
- To be responsible for your own Health and Safety and be aware of factors affecting your colleagues in order to maintain a safe environment.
- To report any accidents, potential hazards to your Line Manager immediately.
- In addition to the above, the Team Leader will perform other duties as reasonably requested by the management team.

Qualifications (Typical Experience, Typical Education, Knowledge/Skills/Abilities):
- Experience: At least 2 years' warehouse experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- At least 2 years' experience as a Supervisor.
- At least 2 years' experience working with a computerized Warehouse / Distribution Management System.
- Fork Lift Truck License Holder – Reach / Counter Balance / High-Bay / Combi is desirable – training can be provided.
Education: GSCE / A level education required. Pass Grade A-C in Maths and English.
Essential Physical Demands:
- Ability to walk and stand continuously during the assigned shift.
- Ability to lift/carry in full range of motion up to 20 kilos during the assigned shift.
- Ability to push/pull in a manufacturing environment up to 20 kilos to push during the assigned shift.
- Ability to grip/grasp continuously during the assigned shift.
- Ability to bend, kneel/squat, twist/turn, reach above shoulder, and type/keyboard frequently during the assigned shift.
- Ability to work designated shift including overtime as required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule which could include nights and weekends & ability to travel as needed.
- Exposure to wide range of temperatures.
