To assist the Supply Chain Manager to provide a first-class service for the business. The role is responsible for ensuring business critical materials are available in a timely and cost-effective way for two sites in the UK. Following procurement procedures, including negotiating and supplier management conditions favourable to the business. Minimising risk while improving business results, standardising and automating business and procurement best practice processes. Highly visible position with regular interactions with senior management. Line management of three direct reports.
Essential Job Duties:- To ensure that all business-critical materials are on site and available for use in the production process and maintain an appropriate stock holding.
- Ensure materials received follow SOPs and are usable, tested and stored appropriately with stock rotation planned.
- Manage all site materials stock holding, regular stock counts and re-ordering across Chapter House and Deltic Avenue sites.
- From regular stock counts, analyze usage to decide on purchasing requirements.
- Assess and action corrective and preventative response to rejected materials.
- Assist line manager with supplier/material evaluations and build strong supply chains and working relationships with suppliers.
- Project manage regular benchmarking of existing suppliers, materials, costs and market options.
- Negotiate favourable conditions and supply of materials with suppliers.
- Deliver on cost reduction commitments through the identification, development and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Help develop, implement and maintain a procurement policy.
- Establish practices for supplier performance metrics and comparisons.
- Manage and supervise three direct reports on production floor.
- Maintain up to date product and safety data sheet archive.
- Work to agreed FSC SOPs when ordering materials, receiving deliveries, labelling etc. to ensure compliance to FSC site certification.
- First point of contact for Ingram's internal quarterly audit for FSC compliance.
- Be responsible for your own Health and Safety and be aware of factors affecting your colleagues to maintain a safe environment.
- Inventory/material stock levels are maintained to ensure production continues.
- Personal targets and objectives set by line manager are achieved.
- Timely performance review (twice a year) of three direct reports.

- Excellent supplier management and negotiation skills including ability to develop and manage business driven supplier relationships.
- Proven track record of successfully managing risk to supply chain and on-site inventory.
