Job Description AM Shift - 7am to 3pm Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week

Job Summary:

  • To provide support to the NBNi MK Warehouse team under the supervision of the Team Leader.
  • Pick customer orders, ensuring a high level of quality and productivity.
  • Packaging and dispatch of books.
  • Forklift driving and maintenance.
  • Supervise unloading/loading of containers and trailers.
  • Assist with goods inwards/outwards in accordance with procedures.
  • Ship goods outwards ensuring that they are clearly labelled and addressed correctly.
  • Maintain the distribution area, goods inwards, loading bay area and yard in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Assist in Quality Control.
  • Assist in removing waste materials from site.
  • Assist with regular stock takes as required.
  • Work to set procedures in accordance with quality controls.
  • Monitor and report necessary replenishment of supplies.
  • To be responsible for your own Health and Safety and be aware of factors affecting your colleagues in order to maintain a safe environment.
  • To report any accidents, potential hazards to your Line Manager immediately.
  • In addition to the above, the Warehouse Assistant will perform other duties as reasonably requested by the management team.

Essential Physical Demands:

  • Ability to walk and stand continuously during the assigned shift.
  • Ability to lift/carry in full range of motion up to 20 kilos during the assigned shift.
  • Ability to push/pull in a manufacturing environment up to 20 kilos during the assigned shift.
  • Ability to grip/grasp continuously during the assigned shift.
  • Ability to bend, kneel/squat, twist/turn, reach above shoulder, and type/keyboard frequently during the assigned shift.
  • Ability to work designated shift including overtime as required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which could include nights and weekends & ability to travel as needed.
  • Exposure to wide range of temperatures.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 6 months experience in a warehouse environment required.
  • Education: GCSE’s or equivalent.
  • Skills: Must be able to operate a personal computer effectively. Math skills – basic arithmetic, addition, subtraction. Ability to work safely and adhere to safety guidelines in a warehouse environment. Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks. Ability to work independently or collaborate in a group environment. Ability to be flexible/multi-task based on workflow demands. Ability to meet and maintain production standards. Ability to maintain reasonably reliable attendance. Hold a valid counter balance forklift truck licence & be used to working in a fast paced production environment.
