A specialist Law Firm in Manchester City Centre is hiring for a Court of Protection Case Manager to join their team due to expansion. This opportunity would suit someone with a legal finance background that also has client-facing care skills. This pivotal role involves working within the legal framework that safeguards the interests of individuals who may lack the capacity to make decisions regarding their health, welfare, and finances.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing and supporting clients who fall under the jurisdiction of the Court of Protection. As a Case Worker, you will collaborate closely with clients, their families, legal representatives, and various healthcare professionals to ensure that the needs and preferences of vulnerable individuals are prioritised and respected in all aspects of decision-making. The successful applicant will possess a strong understanding of mental capacity law, along with a commitment to advocating for clients' rights.
Responsibilities:- Direct contact with clients assisting with a wide range of practical and financial arrangements
- Assisting with financial arrangements, budgets and payments
- Compile and maintain accurate records, including case notes and reports, to document client progress and decisions made
- Provide support and guidance to clients and their families throughout the process
- Stay updated on relevant laws and best practices related to the Court of Protection and mental capacity issues
- Experience within financial management
- A strong attention to detail
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with vulnerable populations and their families
