Our client is a well-established litigation practice based in Scotland, looking for an ambitious Personal Injury Solicitor to join their Employment, Public Liability and Clinical Negligence team. Position Overview
You’ll take on a central role managing a diverse portfolio of personal injury cases, principally arising from employment liability, public liability and medical negligence claims. Your work will directly impact clients seeking compensation and support following accidents or legal disputes. This position offers the chance to develop your technical expertise whilst delivering a first-class service to clients who rely on your guidance and advocacy during challenging times.
Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload of employment liability, public liability and medical negligence claims.
- Assess cases, evaluate prospects for success and advise clients on next steps.
- Conduct legal research using online information sources and apply findings to case strategy.
- Prepare documentation and maintain meticulous case records and file management.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication.
- Stay current with legal developments and firm-wide service offerings.
- Work autonomously whilst collaborating with colleagues on complex matters.
- Apply commercial awareness to each case, balancing legal strategy with client outcomes.
Requirements
- Qualified Scottish solicitor with current practising certificate.
- Solid traineeship and/or up to 10 years post-qualifying experience in personal injury litigation.
- Strong technical knowledge of personal injury law with a commercially focused approach.
- Excellent client communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage your own caseload independently and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Very good time management, organisational and documentation skills.
- Strong research abilities and high-level IT proficiency.
- Self-starting approach with common sense, initiative and sound judgement.
- Ability to demonstrate commercial awareness in case management.
