Management Accountant (Part-Qualified) – 12 Month FTC

Leeds | Hybrid Working | Up to Β£45,000 DOE

This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant who is looking to accelerate their journey towards becoming a commercially focused Management Accountant.

Working closely with an experienced finance leadership team, you'll gain exposure to management reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and business partnering, whilst continuing to develop your technical accounting knowledge.

The role has been designed for someone who wants to take the next step in their career and build the skills required to become a well-rounded finance professional.

The Opportunity

You'll join a growing finance team where development is actively encouraged and where you'll gain exposure to both the technical and commercial sides of finance.

Alongside supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting, you'll work with stakeholders across the business, helping them understand financial performance and supporting decision-making through meaningful analysis and reporting.

This is far more than a reporting role. You'll be encouraged to understand how the wider business operates and develop the commercial awareness required to progress into a future Finance Business Partner position.

What you'll get involved in

  • Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations and month-end processes
  • Supporting year-end and audit activities
  • Producing management information and performance reporting
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting cycles
  • Investigating variances and analysing financial performance
  • Supporting quarterly revenue reporting and invoicing activities
  • Working with operational stakeholders to improve understanding of financial results
  • Supporting business partnering activities across multiple areas of the business
  • Assisting with process improvement and finance transformation initiatives

Who this is for

You'll likely be someone who:

  • Is studying towards ACCA, CIMA or ACA
  • Has exposure to month-end activities and reconciliations
  • Enjoys analysing data and understanding the story behind the numbers
  • Wants to develop commercially as well as technically
  • Is proactive, inquisitive and eager to learn
  • Communicates well and enjoys building relationships across a business
