We are looking for a Financial Controller who is technically sharp, and not afraid to roll their sleeves up. Someone who can take a division that is scaling quickly and make sure the numbers, controls and reporting are as strong as the ambition.
And here is the bit most adverts never say out loud: This role has headroom. Real headroom. If you’re good, you won’t just be “the FC.” You will become the person the divisional FD leans on, the person the business trusts, and the person who naturally steps into bigger conversations.

What you’ll be doing
- Owning month‑end and year‑end across the group, accurate and timely
- Producing statutory accounts for all legal entities and running the audit relationship.
- Keeping everything compliant with UK GAAP and updating policies when needed.
- Overseeing balance sheet controls, reconciliations, provisions and intercompany.
- Managing tax reporting with external advisors.
- Driving better processes, better controls, better systems, the whole lot.
- Leading and developing a small team who’ll thrive with clarity and direction.
- Supporting acquisition integration: reporting, controls, accounting treatment, you name it.
- Working closely with FP&A and Treasury so statutory reporting actually reflects reality.
- Providing technical accounting support across finance and operations.
- Getting stuck into system upgrades, process redesign and other chunky projects.

What you’ll need
- ACA (or equivalent), ideally Big 4 / top ten trained.
- 5+ years PQE with strong technical grounding.
- Deep understanding of UK GAAP, statutory compliance and audit.
- Experience in multi‑entity or acquisitive environments.
- Hands‑on, pragmatic, organised, detail‑driven.
- Strong communicator who can influence without being a pain.
- Comfortable juggling deadlines, priorities and people.
- Bonus points for tax experience and system/consolidation tool knowledge.
